AOP’s practice in competition law and regulation is based on the extensive experience of its managing partner, JUDr. Andrea Baluch Oršulová, PhD., who has been involved in many leading competition law cases in the Slovak Republic during her legal career.
Andrea is a managing partner with more than 25 years of experience advising clients in all areas of competition law. Her experience includes representing clients before competition authorities in cartel proceedings, abuse of dominance cases, and merger control matters. Andrea has extensive experience in preparing compliance programmes and conducting compliance training. In regulated industries, Andrea focuses on telecommunications and energy.
Andrea has long been recognised as a leading expert in competition law and is regularly ranked in Band 1 by Chambers Europe for competition law in the Slovak Republic.
She is the author and co-author of many articles on competition law, as well as several publications, including Cartel Agreements, „Kartelové dohody“ (C.H.Beck, 2009), Commentary on the Act on the Protection of Competition, „Komentár k zákonu o ochrane hospodárskej súťaže“ (Wolters Kluwer, 2014), and Selected Procedural Institutions in Antitrust Proceedings, „Vybrané procesné inštitúty v antitrustových konaniach“ (C.H.Beck, 2022). She cooperates with C.H.Beck as a lecturer on competition law issues and in preparing headnotes for beck-online.
Andrea communicates fluently in Slovak, Czech, and English.
